Yoga Instructor, Certified Reiki practitioner, and Certified Crystal Specialist Megan Cannon joins us to talk about how she took the leap from the corporate world to become an entrepreneur as a Yoga instructor and creator of Moon Malas by Megan.
Megan started Yoga to help her cope from the day to day work life balance. After some deep thought, breaking down a lot of walls, and finding a teacher who helped her meditate by introducing her to a mala bead necklace, she took the leap to complete her 200 Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) at Urban Yoga in Phoenix, in 2014. She then completed her 300 hours in YTT in 2018.

Roicia Banks was born in Phoenix, Arizona and raised throughout the Grand Canyon State. She spent most of her younger years in the Hopi reservation and in the small Town of Winslow.
Ms. Banks studied at Arizona State University and graduated in 2011 from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences earning a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Ms. Banks then pursued her master’s in social work at the University of Houston.
While pursuing her Master of Social Work, she experienced her love for community serving at the local community center of Acres Homes. Ms. Banks assisted in creating research-based solutions training for state employees, and foster agencies in order to eliminate systematic racism occurring in the child welfare system.
Once she earned her degree, she was employed as a case manager and advocate for children in Children Protective Services. After two years, Ms. Banks decided to return to her home state of Arizona and pursue social work for the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, where she served families in tribal government for four years as a social worker and advocate.
To make a bigger impact in her community, she became the owner and founder of Social Roots, LLC., providing a wide range of social work services focusing on people of color and under served communities.
