In this episode we dive into the topic of fascia and soft stretch release technique therapy with Neuromyofascial Specialist Ashly Wenzel.
Ashly earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology: Pre-Med from Grand Canyon University. Shortly after graduation in 2011, she was hit by a truck while riding her triathlon racing bike. Years of surgery, rehab, and pain, she discovered fascia therapy and found healing and relief for the first time, which changed her life perspective and career path. She is now a Neuromyofascia Therapy Specialist and has been teaching fascia therapy courses to fellow health and wellness professionals since 2016.
Sharon Skinner has been writing stories and poetry since grade school. Her writing tends to be focused on fantasy, Steampunk, poetry, and ghost stories.
Sharon holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, an Master of Arts in Creative Writing and a Poetic License. She writes fantasy, science fiction, paranormal (and the occasional steampunk) for audiences of all ages. Skinner is an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and also serves as their Regional Advisor. Yoga Instructor, Certified Reiki practitioner, and Certified Crystal Specialist Megan Cannon joins us to talk about how she took the leap from the corporate world to become an entrepreneur as a Yoga instructor and creator of Moon Malas by Megan.
Megan started Yoga to help her cope from the day to day work life balance. After some deep thought, breaking down a lot of walls, and finding a teacher who helped her meditate by introducing her to a mala bead necklace, she took the leap to complete her 200 Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) at Urban Yoga in Phoenix, in 2014. She then completed her 300 hours in YTT in 2018.
Her mala business came to life in 2015 while also receiving her Reiki Master Practitioner Certification and becoming a Certified Crystal Specialist. By adjoining these two practices she helps work through emotional blockages in the mind and body.

Roicia Banks was born in Phoenix, Arizona and raised throughout the Grand Canyon State. She spent most of her younger years in the Hopi reservation and in the small Town of Winslow.
Ms. Banks studied at Arizona State University and graduated in 2011 from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences earning a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Ms. Banks then pursued her master’s in social work at the University of Houston.
While pursuing her Master of Social Work, she experienced her love for community serving at the local community center of Acres Homes. Ms. Banks assisted in creating research-based solutions training for state employees, and foster agencies in order to eliminate systematic racism occurring in the child welfare system.
Once she earned her degree, she was employed as a case manager and advocate for children in Children Protective Services. After two years, Ms. Banks decided to return to her home state of Arizona and pursue social work for the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, where she served families in tribal government for four years as a social worker and advocate.
To make a bigger impact in her community, she became the owner and founder of Social Roots, LLC., providing a wide range of social work services focusing on people of color and under served communities. Social Roots provides consultation, cultural & behavioral competency training, contract social work and home visitation for attorney clientele.
